The night opens with readings and slam poetry in English and Somali by Ladan Osman, Farah Gabdon and Martin Orwin. Host for the night is Warsan Ismail.
Later we clear the floor for a concert with Aar Maanta and his band, which plays groovy afro-hop. With personal lyrics inspired by the Somali poetry tradition, Aar Maanta offers a charming mix of hip hop, blues and traditional music from Somalia, Northern Africa and the Middle East.
