Performance by Anne Carson and Robert Currie
The tricky thing about practising if you’re the sky is there’s nowhere to go to be alone.
In this performance about creation, writing and humanity, Anne Carson takes the viewpoint of the Sky reading from their diaries from before the creation of the universe. The result is a funny, intellectually challenging and lyrical performance from one of the most central poets writing today.
Anne Carson is a poet, essayist, translator and professor of Classics. With precision, playfulness and often surprising turns, Carson’s poetry brings us the philosophical, the metaphysical and the everyday. Together with partner and collaborator Robert Currie, she continues to explore and experiment with her texts through different formats, translations and performances.
