What should you keep in mind if you are writing a text inspired by real events? As a writer, are you really allowed to use details from other people’s lives?
Together with writer Noor Naga, you have the opportunity to explore this in depth. In this writing workshop, you can test a real case, and take part in a discussion about the ethics of creative writing.
Noor Naga is an award-winning writer with a background from Alexandria, Dubai and Toronto. Her debut novel If an Egyptian Cannot Speak English was published in 2022, and her memoir Third Person is set for publication next year.
Naga has taught creative writing in both Cairo and Toronto. She will visit the House of Literature to give a masterclass for people under 35 who want to write inspired by real events.
