As the People's Liberation Army (PLA) expands its technological sophistication, as well as its operational capabilities and reach, questions about the security implications for the Indo-Pacific, the United States, and Europe have become increasingly urgent.
Join us for a timely discussion on The Evolution of China's Military Power with Mr. Roy D. Kamphausen, retired President and current Senior Fellow for Chinese Security at National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR). Mr. Kamphausen is a former U.S. military attaché to Beijing, policy advisor, and scholar. He will draw on decades of experience in examining the pace and direction of the PLA's modernization, China's evolving military capabilities relative to the United States, and potential ramifications for Europe, NATO, and Norway.
The seminar will be moderated by Professor Øystein Tunsjø, Head of the IFS Asia Programme, and takes place at Litteraturhuset in Oslo on 7 September, 15:00–16:30.
