Against the backdrop of Russia’s ongoing full-scale war against Ukraine, we will explore the challenges and responsibilities of journalism in times of conflict—both during Russia’s aggression and in the broader context of hybrid and information warfare. The program will also focus on Northern Norway, examining how these developments affect the cross-border region.
Lana Estemirova—daughter of human rights defender Natalia Estemirova and close friend of Anna Politkovskaya—will present her book, Please Live: The Chechen Wars, My Mother and Me.

This is the first of two days in memory of the renowned Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, who was murdered on 7 October 2006.
